Close to Home: Rural Workforce Peer Learning Community

The Rural Workforce Peer Learning Community supports practitioners serving young people in small‑town and rural areas where transit, employer networks, and population density differ from urban settings. It focuses on strategies that build economic mobility in places with limited infrastructure, including virtual delivery, transportation barriers, broadband access, and rural‑specific workforce data. Participants explore how to strengthen regional employer partnerships and adapt programming to rural realities. Because rural organizations often work in isolation, this Community provides the peer connection and shared problem‑solving that’s hardest to find anywhere else.

From Care to Career: Foster Youth Peer Learning Community

Practitioners working with young people in or aging out of foster care — including workforce teams, transitional living programs, education partners, and policy advocates — participate in this Community. The focus is on disrupting systemic disadvantages like disrupted schooling, unstable housing, and limited family support while building sustained pathways to economic mobility. Conversations often center on credential recovery, mentorship models, transitional housing connections, ETV/Chafee supports, and policy levers. Because foster‑care youth face some of the steepest workforce barriers, this Community offers a rare space for practitioners to compare what’s working and identify what the field still needs.
