NYEC Federal Policy Roundup (3/4/22)
This Week’s Update
- Supreme Court Nomination: Confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will begin March 21.
- FY22 appropriations: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced the House will vote on an FY22 omnibus appropriations bill, including supplemental appropriations (aid) for Ukraine, on March 8. Hopefully the Senate will follow suit shortly after, before the current stopgap spending bill expires March 11.
- BBB: On pause. Sen. Manchin did mention this week that a cause of inflation (his current top concern) was that “we did not have the labor supply to meet the demand.” (Thanks to Manchin Media Tracker Rashaun Bennett.)
- FY23 appropriations: Hoping for a President’s Budget by next Friday inject energy into the process.
- America COMPETES Act: No updates.
- WIOA: No updates.
