In-Person Activities
September 11th-13th
Final Meeting Prep-The in-person prep session will aim to solidify knowledge gained from the virtual trainings and allow time for teams to review their meeting schedule and pinpoint the location of the House and Senate offices they will be visiting, ensuring participants are fully equipped for their Hill meetings. This session will be essential for refining strategies, aligning goals, and bolstering confidence as attendees prepare to engage with policymakers
Attendees will be placed into teams to engage with lawmakers to discuss key issues and advocate for policies important to their community. These meetings offer a platform to voice their concerns directly to elected officials and their offices!
The Action Plan Workshop will empower attendees with advocacy toolkits and guide them through crafting personalized action plans. These plans will serve as roadmaps for sustained advocacy efforts beyond the event, ensuring their voices continue to be heard long after they return home. Through interactive sessions, participants will be empowered and prepared to amplify their impact and drive meaningful change.Â
Come network and share in your experiences of your day on Capitol Hill! This is a great opportunity to meet with other folks from around the country focused on the same mission. NYEC is proud to have a supportive and inviting community.Â
